tapitfindit

FAQ

What phones can scan a tag?

Any modern iPhone or Android. They read the tag on tap and open the page in the browser automatically. No app is needed to scan, and the finder does not need a tapitfindit account.

Do I need the app?

Only to write a URL to a physical NFC tag, which iOS only allows from a native app. You can manage everything else, tags, details, privacy, and scan history, from the web dashboard. Finders never need the app.

Is there a battery?

No. NFC tags are passive. They draw the tiny amount of power they need from the phone that taps them, so there is nothing to charge and nothing to replace.

What if a thief scans my tag?

A scan only shows the details you marked public. Keep your phone, email, and address private and a finder still reaches you through the relay form without ever seeing them. You also get notified of every scan, with coarse location.

How is my privacy protected?

Every field has a public or private toggle, and private fields are filtered out on our server before the page is ever built, so they never reach the finder's browser. Scan pages are not indexed by search engines.

Are the tags waterproof?

Our luggage tags are built to be weatherproof and hard-wearing for travel. If you use your own NFC stickers, durability depends on the sticker you choose.

Can one account manage many tags?

Yes. Your plan lets you add as many tags as you want. Duplicate a tag to copy its details onto another tag for multi-bag travel, each with its own name and URL.

What does it cost?

Branded NFC tag packs start at $19.95 (AUD) for one, $29.95 for five, and $49.95 for ten. The Start Plan is $29.95 a year and the Premium Plan is $49.95 a year, which includes ten branded tags on signup plus extra features. Both plans let you add as many tags as you want. See the pricing page for details.
