Terms of Service

The service

tapitfindit lets you create digital tags, write their links to NFC stickers or display them as QR codes, and show a public “found it” page with the details you choose. When someone scans a tag, we log the scan and notify you, and relay any message they send.

Your account

• You must provide a valid email and keep your credentials secure.
• You are responsible for activity under your account. Enable two-factor authentication for extra protection.
• You must verify your email to create tags.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Store unlawful content, or anyone else’s personal information without a proper basis.
• Use the contact form or notifications to send spam, harassment, or malicious content.
• Attempt to break, overload, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorised access to the service.
• Use the service to track or surveil people without their knowledge.

We may suspend or remove tags or accounts that breach these terms.

What you share is your choice

You control which tag fields are public. You are responsible for the information you choose to display. Do not make public anything you are not comfortable showing to whoever finds your item.

No guarantee of return

tapitfindit helps a finder reach you, but we cannot guarantee that a lost item will be found or returned, that a scan will occur, or that a finder will act honestly. The service is provided “as is”.

Plans and payment

Some features require a paid plan, and physical NFC tags are sold separately. Pricing is shown on our pricing page and may change. TODO: billing, refunds, and physical-goods (shipping/returns/warranty) terms once payments are live.

Intellectual property

The tapitfindit name, logo, and software are ours. The content you enter remains yours; you grant us the limited licence needed to operate the service (for example, to display your public fields on your scan page).

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost, stolen, or unreturned items. Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.

Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access for breach of these terms or to comply with the law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of TODO: state/territory, Australia.
